Carnaval

That's the way it is spelled in Portuguese. Carnaval was last week. It is the same thing as Mardi Gras.

Instead of taking our clothes off and partying in the streets, we were invited to a day at "the farm" with our friends, Pastor Jefferson, Carmen, and their kids. Just FYI...a "farm" around here, basically from what I've gathered, doesn't necessarily involve animals or crops. It's just somewhere outside the city. But, Carmen and family have bought some land outside the city of Goiania where they live. It is really pretty...is part of a gated community, has a couple of lakes and a clubhouse area with pools and playgrounds, etc. They had invited some people from their church for a churrasco and day out there. They invited us too...and we had a GREAT time as we always do with them.

Here are some pictures of our day. Also, some of the shots that I've included seem to be multiple shots of the same picture. Bear with us. Even though it may seem a bit redundant and like overkill to some of you, maybe some of you (the grandparents for instance) enjoy the play-by-play action. When we haven't videoed, this is a great way to provide that. Besides, I think they are funny shots.

The pool area.
Hadley, Pedro, Grady, and Bia.

After the pool, we went back to where the food and people were, right beside the lake. Some people came with a couple of jet skis, so everyone had a great time gawking. Our kids just watched and watched.
Grady on his bench spectating.
The performer.

Parabens pra voce. We had dessert and a couple of people there were having birthdays in the next few days (including Joel), so we sang Happy Birthday to them.

Birthday people getting prayed for.

Towards the end of those pics, Eissa and Grady have the same expression in their eyes. I love Hadley's curls...all of your kids for that matter.
