Things went well. I will post all about it more thoroughly soon. But, just thought you might want to see pictures at least while you wait for the full report of the day.
But...before class, Grady needed a haircut. Well, regardless of class, he needed a haircut...and Joel wanted one too. So, Sunday was haircutting day. So, before class pictures, here are a few pictures of Sunday.
Grady with all his hair. How do you like that shaving kit (bag) that we keep all our clippers and haircutting stuff in? Yeah, that was my dad's back in the day (WAY back in the day).
We used clippers for the first time with Grady. He was fine with it, but prefers scissors he let us know.
The sides are done...now it's time for some scissor action for the top.
After the cut...itching (literally) to go take a shower.
After his shower...he feels much better without all that itchy hair on him.
LOVE this picture. Hanging out, waiting on his parents to get him something to wear. :-)
Super cute and ready for church.
Can you tell this is her favorite pose? :-) It's the dancing princess in her.
And one more look at that handsome boy.
And now...class pictures.
Their packed lunchboxes.
The kids got new clothes to wear to class...uniforms. In this picture, Grady was saying, "Is that for me?" :-)
Uniforms fit. Cut the tags.
All spiffed up in their school uniforms.
Eissa about to be put in her stroller for the walk to the school.
All ready for our big day.
Walking to school. This other family was on their way too. They are German...live a couple of houses down from us. The dad is a teacher here at the seminary. The little blond girl is in Hadley's class.
The school is actually right behind that building on the left. We walk down the hill and right before we get to the white gate, we take a left and walk onto campus.
Entering the school.
Grady being greeted by his teacher, Tia Laura (Tia is pronounced chee-uh and literally means "aunt"...that's what the students call their teachers...and what everyone calls people they are close to regardless of whether there is blood relation or not).
Hadley loving her class already, after oh, about half a second.
Her class and her teacher, Tia Edslene (in the white t-shirt to the right).
Walking home after the 1st day of class...Grady carrying Hadley's lunchbox for her (so sweet).
And this is what happened about 20 minutes after we got home when we were about to have supper.
Granted, Sunday night was a late night because of church, but oh dear...I'm afraid she might miss her naps.

How sweet! Where did they get those lunch boxes? This will be good for them. Grady might feel so much on the "outside" when with other kids. Hadley might just sleep later in the mornings now. Brings back such memories to see a child asleep at the table. How did it go for you? Grady is such a good big brother. And Hadley is such a good little sister. They look at each other with such sweet expressions. Grady is so handsome -with hair long or short. Neat haircut though. Let us know more about the classes. Thanks for all the great pictures. Love you all.
Love,
Mama
Grady might not feel - oops
One more thing. How did you get your hands on the shaving kit? You must have just taken it. I'm sure Douglas would still be using it if you hadn't. He brought that thing into our marriage!! I'll bet it was a high school graduation gitft. He graduated in '66. :)
The lunchboxes came from the Goiania Wal-Mart at Christmas time. It went well...mostly. I'll expound more later.
Daddy was about to get rid of it at one point...I think when he was getting rid of all those clothes that time (when Charlie Roberts' house burned or something?...don't remember). Anyway, I thought it a travesty and of course, had to take it for myself. I stored some stuff in it for a while and then Joel took it over after we got married. :-) Must be a good one. Guess it's about 40 years old now.
So sweet! Poor little Hadley was just tuckered out, wasn't she?
Hadley and Melody have the same shoes!
Those pics are so much fun. Grady's teacher looks so sweet the way she puts Grady's face in her hands. You can tell she will just love him.
So glad the kids had a good time! What does it say on their uniforms?
It takes my kids a good week of school before they are not pooped at the end of the day.
LOL How precious Michawn. As someone else said, Hadley will sleep later in the mornings now, I'm sure. Tell us about your day, what did you do and HOW did you do with this change? Love the pictures. What a memory you are making for your precious children. Not many of us have this running diary of our lives; in words or pictures.
Love ya much,
Miss Gail
