The Lord gave me grace for my delivery with Molly and was able to go naturally because I got some education before the birth and thanks to my wonderful husband and Douala! God designed our bodies this way! Even though it was the worse pain ever, we made it through by His grace alone! :) Love reading your blog! Blessings to you and your fam!
Love, Anna (Ali's little sis)Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18187583500438140803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24794370.post-46328827167150302012010-10-31T19:10:52.567-05:002010-10-31T19:10:52.567-05:00Good informative post. I certainly feel like I recovered quickest from the one where I didn't have any medication, even though it was my third baby. However, I was willing to be induced when I was a week over due, but prayed that Anya would arrive ahead of that time, and she did:)
In general I have a more live and let live approach to birth options. The best advise I ever received came from my Aunt Gloria when I was pregnant with my first. I was spouting off birth plans and ideals and she calmly told me that the most important thing is a healthy mother and a healthy baby, the way we arrive at that is not something to be ashamed of or stress over. That has been my mantra. However, that said, I am not for unnecessary interventions and I have told the Dr. no when I did not feel it was time to induce yet. I guess the long and short of it is I feel there is no holy birth plan nor is there a set of evil procedures. We all need to be educated and understand and not take the Dr.'s advice blindly. And, especially to Amanda, my heart weeps with you and may your experience and the way you share it help others avoid such unfortunate events. May God heal you, heart, soul and body!Kendiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08633312293670911648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24794370.post-21391526844829188232010-10-18T13:52:14.798-05:002010-10-18T13:52:14.798-05:00Michawn,

I will be forwarding this link on to others who are interested.

While I have had both of mine naturally, the second was induced due to some medical concerns. My first didn't have a runny nose until 9 months. My child who is induced has now been sick four times in her 9 months. I think being induced early and not have a fully formed immune system contributed to that.

Love you girl,

MelMelissa Terryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11932055989544676115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24794370.post-72860740551088867682010-10-17T16:30:20.843-05:002010-10-17T16:30:20.843-05:00thanks, robinpreg.

I think it's impossible for anyone to not feel regret that they chose not to be informed, or wise about decisions. Childbirth and money management are my two greatest regrets about lack of wisdom and planning. I have prayed over my childbirth experiences and stewed over them so many times. Thankfully God has been so many steps ahead of me and He provided a way for me. And thankfully He has used my bad decisions even for His glory. Three cesareans cost me a lot...my uterus, two tubes, and an ovary...the ability to have more biological children....my bladder being attached to my cervix by scar tissue...etc. But, I know have my three incredible children, which of course is worth any pain in the world. I also have some bittersweet experiences in which God allowed me to be stripped of everything for a time...including the time with my husband and children (many medical problems, many hospital stays, some caused by scar tissue from c-sections). God made the bitterness very sweet with encouragement and showing me His presence constantly. Out of it He gave me God songs. I guess I just want to encourage readers from my experience that God is sovereign. He has a plan, and it does include our mistakes that are no surprise to Him. He makes our way. He truly does work everything for the good of those who love Him in Christ Jesus, our Lord. There are good things to come out of our pain.

Oh, and this domino effect that Michawn is talking about where medical intervention causes the need for more intervention, is soooo true, even for medical problems. And I'm not trying to bash medicine and medical intervention, which saved my life a few times last year. It just is what it is. Everything done to the body interrupts another normal process. Antibiotics kills good bacteria as well as bad. Pain relievers slow and harden the bowels. Even the most minor of surgeries takes a toll...bowels interrupted again, gas and gas pain. I had anesthesia last year 5 times in 5 month last year. My hair still falls out and feels like straw. Point is, Michawn is right. Pregnancy is not a medical problem. Who would want that, yet we unknowingly ask for it when we allow medicine to intervene. For me, I wish I had not had the mentality of letting someone else do the job of birthing. It definitely cost me.

Sorry about this being so long, but I needed to say all this so everyone could know the extent of my experience. But don't forget! God is sovereign, which means He possesses supreme authority. That means over our past, present and future.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15245675922313225309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24794370.post-82858172634541146432010-10-16T20:28:11.561-05:002010-10-16T20:28:11.561-05:00Seriously, if you hadn't been open with me abo...Seriously, if you hadn't been open with me about your birth with Grady and shared about each of your births I would NOT have even thought I could have a VBAC after my 1st birth experience being a c-section (Coleman's birth). Please keep posting about this subject. It shows you care about women and babies passionately! I'm so thankful for our friendship! You inspired, encouraged and prayed for my 2nd and 3rd births! Those births were so radically different from my first birth experience. Thank you Michawn! I seriously love that you are so passionate and educated on birth! :) Thanks! You know what your talking about! I have walked the so called 'emergency' c-section route and the VBAC with epidural and the VBAC with no interventions or drugs and each birth was radically different! The dream birth was my last the VBAC2 with no drugs or interventions. Women need to research this important issue and stop just trusting blindly the USA business of being born system!

~ AliAlihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09787105703849235963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24794370.post-75003524373495231122010-10-16T12:19:35.393-05:002010-10-16T12:19:35.393-05:00This is what I needed to jumpstart my need to prep...This is what I needed to jumpstart my need to prepare for this upcoming birth.
